January is a really hard month for me...and from what I've heard around me, it seems like it's a super hard month for everyone else. First of all, you're coming down from what I like to call the "Holiday High." Everything is so fun and festive and you get to spend so much time with the people you love. For most, it's a time of year when you get time off so everyone is in a great mood during the holidays. But man, once January hits...WOOF. Talk about an epic comedown where everything feels hard and going back to work seems impossible. However, I somehow get through that long first month of year, but not without some creative blocks. I always feel like this time of the year is tough. I love holiday content and sharing that with all of you so when that's over, it seems sad to let go of all of that and move forward with just winter content.
Happiness is an all black outfit. No seriously, I love wearing all black. It feels so chic and badass at the same time. Plus, it makes such a statement. Now that I've joined the Blondes Have More Fun team, I have to say, wearing an all black outfit has a whole new feeling to it. My blonde hair seems to pop even more against the black and I am loving it. It's about time that I am showing off this incredible puffer jacket that I bought a couple months back. Honestly, it's so warm that I haven't really had a chance to wear it until these last few weeks because it's so toasty, but now I think it would've been worth sweating my ass off in because it's SO good.
There is nothing I love more than finding an awesome binge worthy TV show. Now, there are some TV shows that are only binge worthy and not necessarily high quality. For example, I just finished YOU, a Netflix original show about a guy who stalks a girl he is obsessed with. Perfect example of a binge worthy show. Enough to keep me entertained but would I say it was an excellent show? Probably not. Over the past couple of months, all I've been hearing about is the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and how amazing it is. I finally sat down one night and was instantly hooked. The writing, the costumes, the acting, the premise, holy crap, everything was incredible.
CoolSculpting. Have you heard of it? I hadn't heard of it until a friend mentioned it to me last year and in all honesty, it seemed to good to be true. CoolSculpting literally freezes the stubborn fat on your body in sections on your body and is the only FDA approved non-invasive fat-reductive treatment. Think about those "trouble areas" that everyone has. A lot of women complain about underarm fat, excess fat around their lower abdomen that just won't budge, or even excess fat around the thighs. For me, my stubborn trouble areas were my lower pooch on my stomach and my side flank area (think in the love handle area but a little lower than that). As an avid exerciser, it really bothered me that there was NOTHING I could do to tone those spots and/or make them disappear with diet. I really thought I would have to live with them forever because I did not want to go under the knife to get rid of them.
Every year, I buy new outerwear because new coats and jackets are literally my favorite things to add to my wardrobe. In the colder months, they are what I center my entire outfit around because they actually keep you warm. I have grown quite an outerwear collection over the years and each fall I say to myself "I think I'm good!" but then every year, a new coat pops up that I fall in love with so I buy it and then I can't imagine my world without it. EVERY DAMN YEAR.
