Hotel Z San Diego

Hotel Z San Diego

Last weekend, Jonny and I decided to head to San Diego to take advantage of the Labor Day holiday weekend and celebrate our one year wedding anniversary a little early! On a fun side note, Jonny actually went to UCSD so it was really fun for him to be back on his old stomping grounds years later. One quick plane ride and a rented car later, Jonny and I started our anniversary vacation. We had so much fun exploring all of the fun little spots that SD is famous for (more on this coming later!) and we were very excited to spend out last day/night with Hotel Z, a Stay Pineapple hotel, which is located downtown in the historic Gaslamp District. When we drove up to the front of Hotel Z, we were immediately blown away by how FUN our hotel looked. Standing out in bright marigolds and turquoise, Hotel Z literally jumps out at you and draws you in with it's unique exterior. Jonny and I drove our rental car right up to the valet, which was an amazing service to use. Instead of having to look around frantically for parking downtown, you hand your keys to the valet and they take care of it for you. When you want you car back for another outing, all you have to do is text them and they will bring your car to the front of the hotel within 10 minutes. Having this service was life changing because we didn't have to worry about parking our car! Someone else did it for us. Oh yeah, WE FANCY.

It's been a year in the making but I am finally sharing our wedding photos with all of you, my lovely readers. Sharing these photos with you on our one year anniversary feels very special. We have spent the last year embracing our newlywed life and just enjoying this amazing time in our lives together. If you didn't already know, Jonny and I have been together for almost ten years so our wedding felt like this amazing culmination of so much love and time spent together as we have grown together side by side over the years. Leading up to our wedding, everyone told us how stressed out we would be throughout the wedding planning process and how we would basically want to kill each other by the time the wedding rolled around. We worked really really hard to prepare everything for the wedding and my favorite part was that we did everything together. Instead of given me full wedding planning responsibility, Jonny wanted a say in every detail. With some stuff, this annoyed me (clearly I can pick better linens, SHEESH) but looking back on it, his involvement really showed how invested he was. Throughout our relationship, Jonny and I have been very used to hearing negative “pieces of advice” over the years (“wedding planning will kill the romance,” “you guys aren’t married yet?” “how LONG have you been together?” “just wait until the magic is gone,” etc.) and we have always laughed them off.

Nob Hill Spa

San Francisco is filled with top notch spas, all of which are amazing, but none of them hold a candle to Nob Hill Spa. Located in the Scarlett Huntington Hotel, one immediately feels at home among the chic decor of the hotel lobby. The plush velvet chairs, rich colors, and gold accents immediately caught my eye and I loved exploring a little bit of the Scarlett Huntington Hotel's lobby before Jonny and I checked into the spa. The spa is located just left of the lobby and the staff were so warm and welcoming. Once we were checked in, one of the spa staff gave us a tour of the facilities. As we were led down the stairs in to the spa itself, I had to stop and catch my breath. The view of the pool and balcony were enough to stop anyone in their tracks because the facilities are THAT stunning. With floor to ceiling windows letting in all the dreamy natural light, the pool area is perfectly lit and immediately puts you in a state of deep relaxation.

The Magic Of Park Winters

When I think of Park Winters, the first word that pops into my mind in "magical." This word may evoke cheesy thoughts of your favorite childhood Disney movies where the princess always lands her prince charming, but trust me, Park Winters lives up to the word. A few weeks ago, two of my closet girlfriends (Sarah from Sassy Red Lipstick and Shannon of Shandru Photography) and I were able to experience the full magic of this incredible estate But first, a little back story about my relationship with Park Winters. When Jonny and I were on the hunt for the perfect wedding venue, I stumbled upon a small thumbnail photo featuring the most gorgeous mansion on page, like, one thousand of a wedding venue search on The Knot. We knew exactly what we wanted. An outdoor space with a home on the property that our family could stay in during our wedding weekend.
