Let’s face it. Some trends can be a little iffy at first. When overalls first started making their current comeback, I admit that I was overwhelmed by memories of my awkward teenage years in which my beloved pair of oversized GAP overalls made many appearances, even after they started to rip in some not so sightly areas. However, after seeing the makeover that the 2013/2014 overalls got, I couldn’t help but indulge in the trend. Now they’re one of my favorite wardrobe pieces and I can see them being a staple for me for quite some time. Now, let’s talk culottes. Actually, I dare you to look up some culotte pieces and not find the current styles so effortlessly chic. It took me awhile to come around to the idea of wide-leg cropped pants, but after much Pinterest-ing and scrolling through hundreds of Google images, I came to the conclusion that culottes were actually pretty amazing when worn appropriately (i.e. with a structured crop top, fun shoes, and a fierce attitude). I recently ordered my first pair of culottes (actually, I ordered the black ASOS ones shown in the middle) and I am anxiously waiting to see how they will look on me. I have a feeling that I will probably fall for the comfort and ease that these pants provide, but you never know. Not all trends are meant for all people.
