Headband Trick.

STEP ONE: STEP TWO: STEP THREE: STEP FOUR:   I recently welcomed a new beauty trick into my regime. Ever since I cut my hair pixie-short, I use headbands when I wash my face and when I’m getting close to the I-can’t-stand-my-hair phase right before a much needed haircut. When I was reading one of my magazines, my eyes were drawn to a small DIY headband technique featured on one of the page corners. Honestly, if I wasn’t reading every word on each page, I would’ve missed it. Anyway, I learned that if you take an old pair of tights and snip the leg parts into either wide or small rings (like in the pictures shown above), you can actually make yourself a super cheap and REALLY amazing headband. I tried this out on an old pair of my tights (because who doesn’t have an old ripped pair of tights lying around?), and it’s not only easy but they headbands are stretchy enough to fit anyone’s head but they are strong enough to hold all your hair in place. I just had to share this with all of you so that you could be let in on this awesome beauty secret. Thanks for reading!

Stripes and Floral.

J Crew Striped Saint James Shirt / J Crew Silk Camisole / Chelsea28 via Nordstrom Track Pants / White  Floral Skirt / Rebecca Minkoff Handbag / GUESS Plasmas Pumps/ Karen Walker Sunglasses, no longer available  I used to be the kind of gal that never mixed prints because I didn’t really know what I was doing. However, once I started to experiment a little bit, I realized that I have a few “go-to” combinations that I find myself coming back to time and time again. One of my favorite combinations is mixing stripes with floral prints. Stripes literally go with everything. They are such a fun neutral that you can use to dress up or dress down pretty much any outfit. Plus, the bold striping against the pretty floral prints really does make quite the statement that is still easy for everyone to pull off in their own way. With stripes, I say, when in doubt, go with black and white. That color combination is timeless and is guaranteed to match even the floweriest floral print. When you have the black and white stripes, you can have fun with the floral pieces and experiment from there. I am dying over both of those floral items and will hopefully add them to my closet soon. Happy Thursday, all!
