Outfit Details | Jacket (Vince Camuto via Nordstrom), Top (J Crew), Necklace (J Crew, sold out but similar here), Jeans (J Brand, similar), Boots (Zara, in stores), Sunglasses (Karen Walker), Lipstick (MAC “Heroine”).

Great ankle boots are hard for me to find. It could very well be that I am too picky when it comes to this particular style of shoe, but why would I want to settle on a pair that wasn’t perfect? I have struggled with thinking that they shorten my legs or look weird when I wear them with dresses, even though I have seen many women successfully pull off this look. I have bought and subsequently sold quite a few pairs of ankle boots over the years but none of them have been “the” pair. I have one pair of leopard ankle boots that I absolutely love, but there are times when I want a little bit of a heel to add a pep in my step and really amp up my outfit.

When I first saw these furry Zara ankle boots, I knew it was love at first sight. The heel height was absolutely perfect (I’ve come to the realization that my ideal heel heigh is between 3-3.5 inches) and the black faux fur was to die for. I liked that they looked edgy without being too over the top, which would deter me from wearing them. Also, I now know that I think the shape of my feet work best with a pointed toe box. My toes are on the longer side and can feel cramped and pinched in shoes that have a rounded toe box. When they finally arrived, I was giddy with excitement, which only grew when I put them out. They. Were. Perfect. They fit perfectly, the heel height was definitely walkable and comfortable, and they just looked so cool! I have been wearing these babies nonstop so get used to seeing them on here. I have a feeling that I will be pairing them with everything.

Also, you may or may not have noticed my killer new Vince Camuto jacket. I first saw this beauty when I was perusing Nordstrom with my shopping partner in crime, my sister. I knew I had to try it on and both of us ooooohed and ahhhhed at how beautiful the olive green tweed and gold details were. This jacket is definitely meant to be oversized, which is actually what I love most about it. Most of my coats are extremely tailored so this is a very different look for me. It is also so comfortable and extremely warm, which I was not expecting. I’m already dreaming up various ways to wear this beauty, one of which is to belt it with my amazing leopard belt from J Crew. Oh, the possibilities!

Thanks for stopping by!

Coat is a winner! Great pictures….terrific outfit. Not usually a fan of booties, but must say they really work well here.

Stunning outfit – the coat is out of this world and the booties are rocking! Absolutely perfect look.
I’ve had to start lowering my heels as my body is simply no longer enjoying my high heels – I’d say that right now I’m most comfortable in the 3inch heels. Ah, this aging gig ain’t for sissies :0)

Hi Wendy! Thank you for your kind words and for following along! I hear ya on the heel height. For years, I kidded myself that I could stand 4 inches heels but many painful nights later, I decided it just wasn’t worth it! 🙂
