Today is my birthday. I’m not usually one to make a big deal about my birthday because I really don’t like to be the center of attention. As an introvert, I always love sitting back and watching everything else happening around me. However, I love celebrating with those nearest and dearest to me. For as long as I can remember, my parents have always thrown a “family party” at their house for everyone’s birthday. I always look forward to these types of gatherings because the people that attend are my favorite people. This year was no exception. In the past few years, I’ve added close friends to my birthday celebration and it has been the best. Our close friends Reid and Caitlin (and now their daughters, Cora and Everly) have attended for the past few years and this year Sarah, of Sassy Red Lipstick, and her husband Robbie joined us! If you follow me on Instagram (@wannabefashionblogger), you have probably noticed that Jonny and I have become really good friends with Robbie and Sarah so it was so fun to have them become a part of our family this year. As usual, my family through me the BEST birthday party. My sister/bestie  picked up my favorite cookies (we eat this instead of cake) and my parents ordered our favorite Mexican food to create the most amazing Mexican birthday fiesta ever (basically, they spoil me like crazy)! Every year, I’m always amazed by how incredible my family is and how much they love me.

A lot of people around me cringe at the thought of turning 30. For me, 30 has been the best year of my life so far. I married the love of my life, we traveled to Cancun for an incredible honeymoon, we kicked off the holiday season with a trip to Disneyland (pure magic!), I found my groove with SoulCycle, we created an amazing bond with Sarah and Robbie, I attended NYFW for the first time (a long term dream of mine), Jonny followed his professional dreams and landed an amazing production position at YouTube, I have confident and proud of how I am, and I feel like I am really proud of how far this blog has come and how incredible you all are. I couldn’t do this without all of you so THANK YOU! Here’s to 31!

I’m just behind you on turning 31 (not until May), but I agree—30 was the best year of my life! And for a lot of the same reasons (wedding & honeymoon!) Plus I finally started my blog. Here’s to our 30s my babe!
