What You Need To Know About Buying On Tradesy

One of the most popular questions I get as a blogger is “where do you buy your luxury items?!” I always love getting this question because I am very picky where I buy my pieces and about which types of items I am willing to splurge my hard earned money on. I still remember pulling the trigger on my very first designer bag, a mini Chanel flap bag with beautiful lambskin leather and 14k gold trimmings. I was so excited that I could barely contain my squeals as I pulled her out of her packaging. However, before I pushed “purchase,” I remember researching like CRAZY all the best and most trust worthy sites to buy from and Tradesy was one of the websites that kept popping up. Then, Tradesy was a newer company but I was blown away by their inventory. They had so many different luxury items that were being sold for much less than market value, which was very exciting for a bargain hunter like myself. It was love at first “site” (get it?!?)! Fast forward five years later and the majority of my designer items have made their way into my closet via Tradesy and this is my number one destination for not only finding designer pieces but for discovering hard to find items that may have sold out due to popularity. Today, I’m sharing my tips with all of you, my lovely readers, so that you can fall in love with Tradesy just I have.

Tip 1 || SHOP TRADESY’S SALES: Out of all the luxury retailers, I find that Tradesy consistently has the best sales around. If you you subscribe to Tradesy’s e-mail subscription, you will be notified when they announce a big sale. Usually, these sales come with a promo code OR Tradesy will mark down certain popular designers (like Chanel) or specific pieces (like summer bags) in a theme sale. Both have been great and I have scored great pieces through these helpful e-mails.

Tip 2 || SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH: I always make sure I have the exact name of the product I’m looking for (i.e. Chanel Jumbo Flap Bag) so that when I type it in, I get the types of results I wanted. Find out what the exact name of the product you’re looking for is and type that in word for word into the search bar on Tradesy’s website. This has helped me quite a bit when trying to locate a particular item.Tip 3 || SAVE YOUR FAVORITE TRADESY CLOSETS: Tradesy items are sold by 3rd party sellers that are hosting their pieces on Tradesy’s website. When you find a seller that seems to carry a lot of your favorite designers, SAVE them on your Tradesy account so you can easily access them when you are looking for new pieces. Some sellers even offer separate special deals on their items, which brings me to…

Tip 4: CHAT WITH YOUR SELLER:  This is the biggest piece of advice I can give to a new Tradesy buyer. ALWAYS MESSAGE YOUR SELLER. This helps with communication when you are buying a piece. Your seller is a real person who will actually respond to you if you have any specific questions about your piece. I’ve asked sellers for more pictures, more in depth measurements, etc. It actually makes the process so much better when you are spending a lot of money on a luxury piece because you are conversing with a real person about it.

Tip 5: SHOP AROUND: When you find your dream item on Tradesy, know that you may be able to find that exact same item for less being sold by another seller. Never click purchase on the first item you see. Always make sure you should around so that you can find the best deal for yourself. I usually continue searching for a couple of weeks to ensure I get the best deal!
