Outfit Details | Coat (Ann Taylor), Top (Madewell Latticework Shirt , on sale!), Jeans (MiH Paris Crops, similar), Shoes (Guess Plasma Pumps), Purse (Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Tote), Sunglasses (Karen Walker Super Duper, no longer available), Lipstick (MAC “Snob”), Earrings (Kate Spade New York, c/o).

By now, most of you know my deep obsession with windowpane prints. This coat is no exception. I’ve recently started watching Mad Men (I know, I’m very late to the game) and believe that this coat could fit right in among the beautiful clothes of that era. With it’s ladylike cut and it’s amazing graphic print, I could see Betty Draper wearing this coat to the grocery store looking like her normal stunning self (they really did dress for every occasion, didn’t they?). In current day, I, too, would wear this coat to the grocery store but would most likely wear it over jeans and a white tee, similar to the outfit pictured above.

When I shop for a coat, I am often drawn to statement coats. You know, bright colors, great prints, etc. I really think that coats can make or break an entire outfit and, living in a cooler city (thanks, fog), I wear coats year-round so I want them to seamlessly work over all the seasons. This coat was such a great investment piece because it’s easy to layer and I love mixing it with other prints since black and white pretty much works with everything.

Hope your Monday is going well and, as always, thanks for stopping by!
