Even in the fall, San Francisco doesn't feel very fall like. In fact, September and October are notoriously our hottest months of the year, which could create a style problem for a fall lover like me (hello, I WANT TO WEAR LAYERS!). However, the warmer temps just mean I get to keep treating myself to one of my favorite treats in SF, Smitten Ice Cream! I know, I live a tough life. Smitten Ice Cream has become one of the most popular go-to places to indulge in sweet frozen goodness (aka ice cream) in this beautiful city of mine and I totally get it. Their flavors are incredible (Earl Grey ice cream?! Sign me up!) and their homemade, freshly made waffle cones can be smelled down the block. BUT the most incredible part about Smitten Ice Cream is that they make everything fresh to order with liquid nitrogen. Yes, LIQUID NITROGEN. It's so cool (pun intended!) to watch them make each order because the liquid nitrogen quickly freezes the ice cream and creates a beautiful fog, which very much resembles SF's own Karl the Fog! Oh, and pro-tip, always get the rainbow sprinkles on top of your ice cream. They are some of the best sprinkles I've had (think fruity pebbles...)!
Happy Monday, friends! I'm switching things up a bit on the blog this week and will be posting a fun series trio in collaboration with one of my favorite designer duos to work with, Veronica Beard. You may remember me gushing about my experience at Veronica Beard's presentation at NYFW when I was there back in February. I couldn't get over their fall collection so I am feeling very honored to be styling pieces of this incredible collection for all of you! Alongside each Veronica Beard fall-inspired outfit, I will be featuring one of my favorite go-to places in San Francisco. Fun fact, each SF place featured this week is located in the Mission (more specifically on or very near Valencia St.), which borders alongside the neighborhood where I live, Noe Valley.
If you haven't noticed, plaid is basically everywhere for fall and winter 2017-2018. No seriously, this plaid trend started with the blazer (I bought mine back in March and never regretted it!). You've probably seen every blogger and their mother wearing many variations of the gray and white plaid blazer and now plaid has taken over everyone's wardrobes in major ways.
"Gimme all the pink" seems to be my personal mantra this past year. When it comes to this color, I usually go through waves of being obsessed with it to barely wearing it at all. Now, to be keep it real with you all, I'm not into all shades of pink. When I first started my blog I was really into hot pink, like the kind of pink that screams for your attention when you see it. As I've gotten older, I have definitely moved away from super bright colors like this (don't get me wrong, I still love me a good vibrant shade) and drifted more toward lighter, more muted shades of a variety of colors. The above shade of pink has been renamed Millennial Pink (as opposed to it's former name, pastel pink. BORING!) as it seems to be the color that represents my generation of stylish ladies and gents.
Happy FriYAY, all! Whenever Shannon finds a new spot to shoot in, I always get excited because I know it's going to be good. This "No Parking" larger than life sign was no exception to the "Shannon always finds amazing photo op spots" and I loved how this outfit looks against this backdrop. Think San Francisco street style at it's best. If you've been following me for awhile, you know I always lean toward the moodier side for my outfit shots and I am loving the badass vibes these shots are giving.
