Hello, my name is Tamryn and I have been blogging for almost four years and have never shot swimwear. I know, I know. I live in California and have never shot swimwear photos. How is this even possible?! Well, I'll get right down to it, I never WANTED to show anyone what I looked like in a swimsuit. Let me backtrack a bit...
When I think of Park Winters, the first word that pops into my mind in "magical." This word may evoke cheesy thoughts of your favorite childhood Disney movies where the princess always lands her prince charming, but trust me, Park Winters lives up to the word. A few weeks ago, two of my closet girlfriends (Sarah from Sassy Red Lipstick and Shannon of Shandru Photography) and I were able to experience the full magic of this incredible estate But first, a little back story about my relationship with Park Winters. When Jonny and I were on the hunt for the perfect wedding venue, I stumbled upon a small thumbnail photo featuring the most gorgeous mansion on page, like, one thousand of a wedding venue search on The Knot. We knew exactly what we wanted. An outdoor space with a home on the property that our family could stay in during our wedding weekend.
Yes, I'm wearing shorts. SHORTS! I never wear shorts! A lot of you probably shook your head in disbelief when you read that but I'm serious. I never wear shorts because I hate how I look in them. I'm all for body positivity and accepting your body for what it is but it is really hard for me to "accept" certain parts of my body. I work out really hard to stay healthy and to keep my body in shape and while I've come to the realization that I am not going to have thin anything, looking good in my clothes still drives my work outs (just being honest!). With that said, I have never liked how I looked in shorts. I felt like they never sat high enough on my waist (high waisted or NOTHING is now my motto) and pairs that I tried on were always either too short or too long OR too tight in the thigh and butt.
About two weeks ago, I traveled to the beautiful Park Winters with my friends Shannon and Sarah. Ever since Jonny and I got married here, I've been itching to come back to this beautiful oasis. Having lived in San Francisco for six years, I've really come to appreciate life outside the city, especially in the summer time. Most of you know that San Francisco is pretty chilly during the summer time but if you travel just outside the city, you'll find yourself experiencing some pretty warm weather. Ever since I returned home from Austin, I've been craving warm weather so traveling to Winters seemed like the perfect place to spend the day (more on our time at Park Winters coming soon!).
I would say that my number one go-to outfit year-round is a pair of jeans and a really cute comfy top. Not only is this no-fail look so easy but it's really comfortably for walking around the city, running errands, or even hanging out with friends on a Saturday night. When you live in a city where the fog rolls in pretty much every night, wearing dresses (while I LOVE them) is not always conducive to our quickly changing weather patterns. HOWEVER, when it's summer, I try to adhere as closely to a summer wardrobe as I can without freezing my butt off so tops like this adorable Bash Paris one are my live-in pieces all summer long.
