I really love unexpected combinations. There is just something fun and exciting about pairing something that you might not think will go together. Take red and purple for example. I am always trying to find new combinations with many of my beloved pieces of clothing so that I can push the limits with my own personal style. At this point, you have seen this skirt make a couple of appearances on this blog. What can I say? I love it! Sorry I’m not sorry! This time is a little different.

I really wanted to pair this skirt with a more casual top and flats. I just scored this Madewell “Beach” tee for less than $20 (holla!) and just love how laid back it feels. Does it not scream summer to you? I have to say, pairing it with this purple midi skirt had me so excited because I absolutely loved how different it felt. The mixture of fancy and casual is so fun because you can wear it anywhere. I’m always afraid that wearing flats with one of my midi skirts will make me look short and stout, but the red stripes and the red flats really compliment each other here and, let’s just be honest, they are much easier to wear in San Francisco.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday!
