A “Clueless” Halloween

When I was in 4th grade, I watched Clueless for the first time. Without even realizing it, my world was changing for the better and I was witnessing a cult classic film unfold right before my eyes. To put it lightly, I became OBSESSED with Clueless. I made my mom take me to Limited Too to buy an outfit that looked like Cher’s, my sister dressed up as Cher for Halloween that year, and I pretend talked on my fake cell phone that resembled a large brick all day every day. I ran around the house screaming “AS IF” and perfected my “Loser, Loner, Whatever Man” hand signals, and memorized every line from the movie so I could feel closer to the characters. When I rewatched watched Clueless for the first time as an adult, I remember feeling SHOCKED that my mom and dad let us watch it as kids because of the drug and sex related content. My mom just laughed and said “you had absolutely no idea what they were even talking about and doing,” which is totally true. At the time, it felt like an innocent teen movie when, little did I know, these Clueless teens were not that innocent (yes, that is a Britney Spears reference). Oh well, what I didn’t know didn’t hurt me, right mom?!

I really love dressing up for Halloween but over the past few years, I haven’t really had the time (or energy) to get and wear a costume. Honestly, I just didn’t want to spend the money but this year is different. I can’t even tell you how much of a blast I had shooting this Halloween 2018 Clueless-inspired post with my girls, Sarah and Veronica. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to call these two incredible ladies my besties and love that they are always up for a themed shoot like this!To be honest, we always have a blast together, but this shoot just felt so fun, mainly because we were reenacting our childhoods. Who doesn’t love to reminisce and dress up as their childhood hero (yes, I am referring to Cher Horowitz as a personal childhood hero)?! It just brings you right back to being a kid. Remember that Limited Too outfit I told you about? It actually looked shockingly similar to this outfit that I’m wearing above. With 90’s influence still going VERY strong in the fashion world, Clueless-inspired looks for Halloween seemed like the perfect way to relive our childhood movie dreams with the current style trends. I know I’m biased but I have to say, I think we NAILED IT. So if you’re looking to relive your Clueless days, look no further! All our outfits are linked above so, this Halloween, you can “AS IF” and “WHATEVER” yourself as much as your heart desires.
