Outfit Details | Jacket (J Crew), Sweater (J Crew), Striped Shirt (St. James), Pants (J Brand), Shoes (Sam Edelman), Gloves (Target), Lipstick (MAC Ruby Woo), Sunglasses (Karen Walker), Necklace (Vintage, from my Grandma).

There is nothing cozier than a high quality cable knit sweater. I received this sweater as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend’s parents and I absolutely love it. When I first saw it on J Crew’s website, I thought that it was going to be white, but it turned out to be a gorgeous cream color. I actually ended up loving the cream color and think that I would prefer it over white. There is something just so cozy about this sweater and I think I know one of the reasons. It has lined pockets!!!! Many of you already know that I love pockets in just about any piece of clothing; Tops, skirts, dresses, pants, and so on. The pockets on this sweater are especially amazing because they do not add bulk to the shape of the sweater, which is already on the boxier side. While I prefer my thicker sweaters to be a bit boxier because they are easier to layer shirts underneath them, I do not like any added bulkiness around my midsection (does anyone?). I was pleasantly surprised to find that this sweater is thick, but very flattering, and extremely warm. Also, I have not found the material scratchy, but rather soft.

These Sam Edelman boots have made quite a few appearances on my Instagram, but have not made their debut on this blog until today. They really are the perfect ankle boot. The slender shape of the boot compliments and flatters any foot and the heel height is perfect. They are so comfortable to walk around in (this is especially important in a hilly city like San Francisco) and I always get complimented on them every time I wear them. I have been wearing them for just over a year and have found the quality to be amazing. I find that they are a perfect addition to more casual attire because they seem to jazz up any outfit.

I always get a little sad and nostalgic for the holidays (yes, I know they just happened) when Christmas is over. Is there anything more depressing than seeing the discarded Christmas trees on every street corner?! However, at least we can still look forward to New Years. You can rest assured that my Christmas tree will remain up (and lit!) until at least the second week of January. Gotta soak it up as much as I can. 🙂

What are your casual go-to pieces? Thanks for reading!

Hi Tam, My, that is a handsome sweater! Simple, but elegant! I am so glad you like it. I am also glad you ended up liking the cream color, even though you thought it was white! I think your blog is terrific. It really sounds like you are serious about your critique, not just filling space with what you think everyone wants to hear. Congrats! Love and kisses,

    Debbie

I like big and fitted sweaters depending on the day or my mood!
