For some time, I believed that wearing black on black looked too matchy-matchy, which is something I always tried to stay away from when styling outfits. However, wearing all black has been a chic staple (hello! It’s slimming!) for quite sometime but I never really could hop on board the monochrome train. When I finally decided to give the all black look an honest chance, I realized that I actually really liked, no, LOVED how it looked. Not only did I feel powerful in such a dark color, but I also felt like it was so easy to put together. The flared skirt is a nice compliment to the weighted feel of the sweater (really, it’s pretty heavy) and the contrast of textures is unexpected. Add an awesome graphic necklace and you’ve got yourself a sophisticated outfit that can take you from day to night. Plus, I’m a sucker for leather details and the leather pockets on this sweater are to die for. I’ll be wearing variations of this outfit all winter long and I am looking forward to adding my beloved black tights into the mix.

Here’s to trying new things! Thanks for stopping by!
