I wish the holiday season lasted for a few months. Not only do I love the extended time that I get to spend with my family and friends, but I get so excited to style outfits for this time of the year. There are so many parties to attend and I always try to challenge myself to wear something different to each occasion. In the years past, I used to have one or two “fancy” outfits and maybe one pair of dress shoes that were meant to go with both dressy outfits. Times have definitely changed and I now keep a variety of “fancy” outfits on hand (and quite a few pairs of dress shoes) because you just never know when you’re going to need to dress up. Plus, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I tend to dress up more often than not so it’s nice that I can mix and match pieces for different occasions.

For this outfit, I paired my newest obsession (the H&M midi skirt!!!! Yes, I bought it in black because it is THAT amazing) with my absolute favorite sequin top. I bought this Zara sequin top a couple of years ago because I was inspired by my good friend’s silver sequin top that she wore out to dinner. From the moment I put it on, I knew this top was going to be a staple in my closet forever. The shape of it is very tasteful but has an edge to it (hello deep V back detail!). I also love the shape of the sleeves and find that I can wear this top with my boyfriend jeans for a more casual look just as easily as I can wear this top to a dressier event. Versatility! I have found that many sequin tops have the tendency to look cheap but this one’s gleaming gold glow is very luxe looking.

Can I just take a second to talk about the J Crew Everly pumps that I’m wearing?!?! These pumps are by far the best 3.5 in heels that I have ever put on my feet. Not only are they comfortable (seriously!) but they are very light and easy to walk in. My J Crew shoe collection is growing quite large but the Everly pumps are definitely at the top of my list right now. When I was researching these pumps, many people found that they ran small. In J Crew shoes I usually take a size 9 (my usual shoe size is an 8.5), but the nude gold capped Everlys that I debuted here and on Instagram are a size 8 and the black ones that I’m wearing here are a 9. Talk about confusing. I would definitely try these pumps on in the actual retail store because it is so hard to tell which size will fit you best. However, once you find that perfect fit, I guarantee that you will fall in love with these pumps.

Thanks for reading and happy holidays!
