Friends, I am going to admit something to you. I am a serial designer clothes stalker. Oh, you don’t know what that is? Let me enlighten you. Like most people, I love high end pieces. However, I don’t like high end prices and neither does our budget. There are a lot of girls that are able to buy every new designer piece without thinking twice but I like to take my time before I purchase an expensive piece. When I say taking my time, I really mean stalking the desired piece for months and months waiting for what I want to go on sale (I actually keep tabs open on my computer so I can compulsively check on what I want verrrrrrry often). Sometimes, this can backfire because popular pieces often sell out, especially when they become Instafamous. When this happens, I cry. Well, not really, but I do get very sad. However, this is not the end all be all. I will check in on the item by Googling it every so often and sometimes I get lucky and the sold out piece gets returned AND goes on sale.

This velvet dream of a dress designed by Ulla Johnson (my favorite designer at the moment) sat at the top of my “MUST HAVE” shopping list for a very long time. I’m talking at least six months. I missed the chance to snag it on sale a couple times and watched as it slowly sold out (even at full price!) everywhere. However, on Cyber Monday, Ulla Johnson finally announced the sale to end all sales (40% off EVERYTHING on her website) and I decided to pull the trigger. I was so happy because I just knew this dress was going to be amazing. However, much to my dismay, the day after I purchased this dress I received an e-mail informing me that my order had been canceled. NOOOOO! I ended up calling the company and they were incredible to work with. They even found the same dress in my size in their inventory because another customer was in the process of returning it and agreed to ship it directly to me when it came in at the 40% discounted price. Score! Thank goodness for great customer service!

The point of all this is that some special things are worth waiting for and this dress is one of those things. I may have to wait for the designer pieces I want to go on sale, but I can tell you from personal experience that it makes that piece so much more special every time I wear it.

P.S. Happy Birthday to my incredible mom, Terry. She takes care of everyone and never asks for anything in return and I know she’s reading. I love you, Mooshie!
