Tied With A Bow

I am always on the hunt for fun blouses that are statement-esque but are still easy to wear. This is not always an easy combination because “statement” usually doesn’t go with “easy” but in this case, this Zara blouse was a perfect piece to add to my fall wardrobe because I can literally wear it with everything. Y’all know that I am have a serious obsession with white and black (clearly I can’t get enough of my black and white Gucci purse) so I knew this piece was coming home with me the moment I laid eyes on it. Also, are we DYING over this plaid bomber? This is actually my very first piece that I’ve bought from the WhoWhatWear collection at Target and I wear it ALL the time. It looks so cute layered over everything and I just cannot get enough.
Can I be real with you guys for a minute? Lately, I have been having a really hard time finding pants. I have been obsessed with finding pants that work for multiple occasions (dressy, casual, etc.) and for some reason it has been REALLY HARD. I have always had difficulty finding pants and jeans that fit perfectly. Honestly, I don’t think I have one pair of pants that fit my perfectly. I have a smaller waist and a big butt and thicker thighs so my jeans and pants always fit loose in the waist and tight in the butt/thigh area (BOO). I’m also tall (5’9″) so pants always hit me at a weird length and I HATE IT. Even this pair of pants, while very high waisted (YAY), have a tighter elastic waist and they can be really difficult to pull up, especially when I’m changing for blog shoots in the back of my car (insert eye roll here). However, I have been taking my newer pairs of pants and jeans to my neighborhood tailor and I have to tell you, it’s made a huge difference. I really had to come to the realization that things may not fit me perfectly right out of the package and THAT’S OKAY. I now alter the length so they hit my ankle perfectly, I adjust the waist so I don’t have that awkward gapping at the back of the waistband, and I have even different hems that better suit my style! So, my advice to you would be to take your pants to a tailor and work with him/her to see if you can make them your perfect pair! Of course, if there is no way the jeans are going to fit or if they are way too short to begin with, it’s probably best to return, but if they almost fit perfectly with the exception of one area, try tailoring it! You never know, you could create your absolute favorite pair of pants/jeans with a small adjustment!
Have a great weekend, friends!
