It’s no secret that Audrey Hepburn is one of my style icons. Not only was she breathtakingly beautiful (those eyes! That hair!), but she was such an amazing woman beyond her role as an actor. Audrey had to ability to wow everyone with her poise and grace and she continues to be such a style inspiration for women of all ages. Now that’s what I call timeless. She always left something to the imagination (not once did you see her baring it all for the public eye), which is something that I really respect about her. Audrey redefined what it meant for me to be “sexy” in my day to day style.

Ah, there’s that word. Sexy. A word that I never use to describe myself or my sense of style. There’s a great line in Sex and the City where Miranda, who is by far my favorite character on the show, turns to Carrie and complains that men never describe her as “sexy.” To her dismay, she is always described as “cute.” That great line? “Sexy is what I try to get them to see me as after I win them over with my personality.” Oh, Miranda. She always nails it! I also find myself having issues with this from time to time. I often gravitate to feminine styles that many describe as “cute,” or as my dad would say, are “classy, not ass-y.”

I have never been one to show off too much but I do like feeling sexy in whatever I’m wearing. Who wouldn’t? Let me loop back to today’s look. I feel AMAZING (dare I say “sexy?!”) in this outfit. This dress is so fun to wear. The peplum hem swishes from side to side when I walk and the length is perfect. Not too short, not too long. When I threw on this red and white tweed jacket, I felt like I could’ve traveled right back in time and had breakfast at Tiffany’s right alongside my girl, Audrey. She might have even wanted to borrow my fabulous hat.

Thanks for reading!!

When I saw the outfit before reading the blog I thought classy! I guess that puts me in the same category as dad. At least he’s a man that pays attention. Classy outfit.
