A Magical Tulle Moment.

Outfit Details | Sweater (J Crew), Tulle Skirt (Anthropologie, old, but available here), Necklace (J Crew, purchased on eBay, love this one), Shoes (Sole Society, Nordstroms), Purse (Coach), Sunglasses (Karen Walker, Number One), Lipstick (YSL Glossy Stain #1), Rings (Etsy).

When Anthropologie first debuted Alexandra Grecco’s Karinska Tulle Skirt last winter, I knew that I had to have it in my closet. Every time I walked by Anthropologie’s holiday display window, this skirt seemed to call my name. Sometimes, I would walk into the store so I could admire it’s beauty up close, a dangerous tactic that always ended in a much deeper yearning than I had before I convinced myself to just “look.” However, as much as I loved this skirt, I told myself to be a smart shopper and that I would probably never wear such a full skirt in my everyday life. Oh, how wrong I was. The skirt quickly sold out and I kicked myself for not buying it when I had the chance.

Fast forward to this year, the magical tulle skirt never left my mind. I searched the internet high and low for a look-a-like, but knew I wouldn’t be satisfied unless I had THE one. One day, I decided to look on eBay, a magical online place that has come to my aid on many similar occasions, and (gulp), there it was. Actually, there all four of them were! As I was thanking the shopping gods in my head, I realized only one of the four listed skirts was in my size. And I would have to bid on it. I stalked the skirt for days until bidding day finally came. While my opponents bid fiercely, I came out the winner and walked away with the skirt of my dreams.

I will be wearing this skirt for most of 2013’s holiday season. It is the perfect party piece and makes me feel special when I wear it.  This fall, I have noticed that women are pairing their sweaters with full skirts, a look that is simple yet so feminine. I wanted to try out this combination and I think that the magenta color of this J Crew cashmere sweater is a perfect compliment to the ethereal tone of the skirt. Since most of this outfit is pretty feminine, I wanted my shoes to feel a tad edgier, hence my perfect Sole Society “Anneke” pumps. Bring on the holidays!

Hi Amber! Anthropologie is now selling different variations of this tulle skirt by the same designer (Alexandra Grecco). If you go to Alexandra Grecco’s website, you can find the exact same tulle skirt there as well! Happy shopping!
