There are some clothing pieces that speak to me. Yes, I do shop a lot and yes I have an exploding closet filled with clothes that I love but there are just some pieces that are more special than others. Believe it or not, I have been trying to be more mindful when it comes to my shopping habits. I’m trying to not buy as much and focus on buying for lasting quality over cheaper trendy items. So, I have been tuning into my shopping voice in my head more often. Oh, you DON’T have a shopping voice in your head? Let me enlighten you on mine.
I look at a lot of clothing per day. Part of my job as a blogger is to bring new clothing ideas and style tips to you, my lovely readers. This requires scrolling through page after page of beautiful clothing and to be honest, it is rare to find a piece that makes my heart flutter. There are just so many options these days that it’s hard not to get lost in a sea of trends. However, sometimes, I see a piece and it makes me stop. Sometimes I even talk to myself and say things like “oh hello, beautiful” or even “how can I make this purchase happen?” if it’s a splurge. But there are even times when I don’t even register how much I love something but I get this gut feeling that this piece is meant to be with me. I can’t explain it, it’s like fate takes over and I’m powerless. This plaid dress was one of those items. I remember seeing a few fabulous women sporting this Ganni dress during NYFW back in September and I was immediately enamored with it. For some reason, I was able to restrain myself and not buy it at full price. However, a couple of months ago, I found it on sale and in MY size. I knew it was shopping fate working in my favor so I bought it right then and there and I haven’t looked back since. It really is the perfect plaid piece and I can’t wait to wear it over and over and over.
