When I draw on fall style inspiration, I often find myself looking to “back to school” styles, which leads me to schoolgirl inspired looks. Throughout my K-12 school years, I secretly wished that I could wear a private school uniform because I love the pleated skirts, the knee high socks, and the preppy colligate sweaters. It’s a classic look that always seems to reappear when fall rolls around. However, I think that my height has dissuaded me from going full-out schoolgirl. Often, shorter skirts look too short and I didn’t want to have to spend the entire day pulling at my skirt’s hem. However, this H&M skirt seems to work perfectly with my height (the fullness helps) and I also ventured out into wearing knee high socks as an alternative to boots. I have to admit, I really love the knee high looks for two reasons:

1.) They keep my legs warm without the constricting feel of wearing tights

2.) They help make a shorter skirt feel less revealing.

I picked up this sweater at GAP about a month ago and have only just had the opportunity to wear it. I love the old school (pun-intended) preppy alma mater feel and the quality is fantastic. I’ll  admit that I do not shop at GAP that often, but this sweater sure has inspired me to check out their fall and winter lines.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!
