Signs of Spring.

When I first saw this dress, I knew that it would one day be in my closet. It. Is. Beyond. Stunning. However, in true “Wannabe” fashion, I patiently waited for this little number to go on sale. When it first went on sale, something told me to keep waiting, so I did. Oh boy, am I glad I waited. This dress went on SUPER sale just last week and I immediately went to my local Anthropologie and picked it up. What really surprised me was how badly this dress was reviewed on Anthro’s website. Didn’t people see how amazing the lace overlay was and how gorgeous the pink and green colors were? Apparently,  after some investigation, I found that many people did not like the fit of the dress. Again, I was really surprised. I tried on my usual size 6 in this dress and found that it fit well. Just for comparison purposes, I also tried on the size 4. I ended up purchasing the size 4 because I liked that the waist and top portion of the dress were more fitted, which contrasted well with the volume of the skirt portion. Now, I can definitely see how some people would think that the skirt of this dress is unflattering, especially around the waist. I actually found that the volume of where the skirt met the waist was very flattering on me. If you live close to an Anthropologie retail store, go on in and try it on. It is just so beautiful and the sale price is just too good.

I wore this to my family birthday celebration and felt great in it, even after my second piece of cake. This dress is so different from many other dresses that I’ve seen and as you all know, I love a piece that stands out.
