YUP. It’s January and I’m still wearing velvet.

I know, I know, I know. It’s no longer the holiday season but technically it’s still winter and I’m going to still wear velvet, DAMMIT! I mean, really, I was supposed to get this post out before the new year, but in all honesty, I was having way too much fun hanging out with my family, my friends, and living it up on my holiday vacation that I chose to step away from my blog posts until now. I’ve had this blog for over five years now. FIVE YEARS.  When I first started blogging, I posted three blog posts a week and Jonny and I basically gave up all our weekends for two years to literally take blog photos CONSTANTLY. It really took up all of our free time and we both worked full time on top of this hobby of mine. Well this once hobby has turned into my baby, something I truly love and cherish. It has also become a second job for me and I’ve worked hard to keep up consistent content for you guys because I LOVE doing it. I love putting together outfits, I love thinking outside the box when it comes to personal style, and I love connecting with all of you. However, there are times when I need to step away and be present in my life. As much as I love this blog space that I’ve created, it often makes me think ahead and plan because I need to do so in order to keep it running. I’m constantly planning outfits, planning photos, scheduling shoots and content and I do it because I love it. However, all that planning can sometimes prevent me from living in the moment so there are times when I like to step away from that schedule mentality to enjoy other aspects of my life. I will say, taking a little time away helps me reprioritize and reignite this passion. Honestly, I can’t imagine my life without this blog and I am proud of how far it’s come since my very first post way back when. Thank you for being a part of my community and for making this blog better than I could’ve ever imagined and for also letting me step away when I need to, even if I do miss my holiday content window!
