If you follow me on Instagram (@wannabefashionblogger) then you know that this was my New Years Eve outfit! Let me tell you, I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of sequin pants for the past year or so, and these ones from Nordstrom definitely fit the bill! When I first saw these pants online, I knew that I had to go into my local Nordstrom and see them in person. The picture on Nordstrom’s website does not do these pants justice!! The sequin pattern is so perfect (it looks like you’re wearing glitter without having the mess of glitter) and the gold color is to die for. The best part? These sequin beauties are TRACK PANTS, which basically means that you can look like a million bucks while you’re wearing pants that feel like sweats!!! Perfection.
I spent my New Years Eve with my family and our close family friends. During the day, we went bowling so I knew that I would want to be comfortable, which meant no dresses since I would be busting out my stellar bowling moves (not!). I may not be the best bowler, but I sure am glad that I wore pants because bowling requires a lot of funny movements, especially when you are actually throwing (rolling?) the ball down the lane. Even though I was wearing pants, the sequins helped me feel very festive. I topped off the pants with my favorite J Crew cashmere sweater and paired the entire outfit with my black suede pumps.
I also added a fun new clutch that I was able to pick up for half off during a crazy holiday sale at Francesca’s! I have been on the hunt for a lucite clutch ever since I started seeing pictures of them from New York Fashion Week. When I first started searching for one, I was shocked to see how expensive these babies can run. This did not deter me and, through lots of research, I was able to find the one shown above! This clutch is a fun way to dress up an outfit because it feel unexpected and different from all of the other fold over clutches that everyone has been sporting. I also love the removable chain strap, which comes in handy if I’m going to be moving around a lot and need my arms/hands free. If you get a chance, Google “Lucite clutch” and look through some of the beautiful internet images. You’re welcome. 😉
