Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great one. While mine went by pretty fast (*sob*), I had a great time spending it with family and friends in celebration of not only my own graduation from graduate school but my sister’s graduation from law school. So much to celebrate! For this week, I am celebrating my love and obsession with black and white. Since I can’t seem to pull myself away from this combination, every outfit post will feature a black and white outfit, starting with this one!

In other exciting news, I finally invested in a professional camera, thanks to some generous graduation gifts that I received over the past few weeks. After much deliberation and research, Jonny and I finally decided on a Canon 60D since we are both still learning the art of photography. My heart was racing when we bought it because I have wanted a nice camera since I started this blog way back in November of last year. I knew it was going to be a game changer and, let me tell you, it really truly is. I was afraid that I wouldn’t see a difference in the photos since the iPhone camera that we have been using gave us pretty decent results. However, just playing around with our new baby for one day proved how much of a difference this camera is going to make in the long run. SO excited. Today’s outfit pictures are brought to you by the new Canon and, as I’m sure you can tell, we are still learning, but man, do they look good. I realize I am completely biased here, but I don’t care. I have a CAMERA!

Okay, Tamryn. Stop it, let’s get to the outfit already. You have all seen this jumpsuit before but you also know how I like to recreate new looks with beloved pieces that live in my closet. For this look, I paired this jumpsuit (which is the most comfortable thing I own. Seriously.) with this new faux leather jacket that I bought during Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale. [Side note: If you haven’t checked out this sale, you absolutely must stop everything you are doing and see for yourself just how amazing this sale is.] I have been on the hunt for an edgier, perfectly fitting, and soft faux leather jacket for quite some time and this one definitely fit the bill. First of all, you would never believe that this is faux leather based on how soft and buttery the material is. Second of all, the slightly cropped fit is PERFECT for wearing with anything. Lastly, the price was PERFECT for my budget. If you have been looking for a black faux leather jacket, consider this one. You will not be disappointed.

To top off this edgier look, I threw on my studded messenger bag (does it get more badass than that?) with my new white leather slides. Ladies, this is probably as close as I will come to participating in the Birkenstock craze that is happening right now (I already went through this phase when I went to U.C. Santa Cruz, thank you very much). When I bought these, I didn’t realize that my sister actually has these same sandals in another color because the different colors make them look like completely contrasting styles. These sandals are so flipping comfortable. How could it get any simpler? All I have to do is slide my feet into them and I’m good to go. I am loving the crisp feel of the white and they will literally go with everything in my closet. My beloved high heels are starting to worry that they may be replaced by the pure comfort of these sandals and, I have to say, I don’t blame them for feeling anxious. 😉

Thanks for stopping by!

Yay for a new camera! I have a Canon T3i and I just got a new lens that I love. For really great pictures and a clean blurry background, lower your aperture. They show up so great! See my outfit from yesterday to see what I’m talking about. They’ll look so great and it’ll just focus on you rather than you + the background! xo
