We moved into our San Francisco apartment almost four (!!!) years ago. Before we moved in, we had to redo our apartment top to bottom because this place was a mess. I’m talking neon green, mildewed carpets that haven’t been changed since the 60’s and about two inches of dust and grime over every nook and cranny of the place. Major ick. After months of scrubbing, cleaning, and new carpet, we were ready to move in. I had been collecting items for months. Pots, pans, pillows, vases. It was so fun to pick out all the little knick knacky stuff for our place.

Fast forward almost four years and you’ll find me…itching to change everything! Poor Jonny just rolls his eyes whenever I get the desire to change things up because he is very much in the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” camp. Well, I am not even going to begin to apologize for making over our apartment because once Jonny saw our desk space, he realized how much fresher it made our apartment feel. Can I get a thank you very much?!

The desk area makeover pretty much took over my life for about two weeks. I showed Jonny about a million different desks (thanks, Ar!) and pillows (he insists on having a say on everything in our place) before landing on the ones you see here. I have to say, I am really happy with how everything turned out. I absolutely love the chair (that was my one non-negotiable. Sorry, Jonny!) and feel that it not only looks chic but that it doesn’t take up too much space in our smaller place.

We wanted a little more storage space in addition to the desk so I scoured high and low for the perfect bar cart. I like the unexpectedness of the bar cart, as opposed to just regular chairs, because it adds a bit fun to the entire space.

Still to come, a fun print that is going right in the middle of my awesome bar cart.

Next project: Get a new couch and new coffee table.

Just saw this yesterday, in person, and it is awesome. Brightens up the entire living area. Amazing. So complete without taking up a huge footprint, leaving the rest of the room feeling open and spacious. Well Done!!!! (can’t believe that it is four years)
