Yesterday was an amazing day. I co-hosted my first blogger event with my good friend and fellow blogger Bobbie, author and creator of Even If Nobody Reads This. Before I share all of the fabulous details with you on tomorrow’s blog post (you would not believe how many pictures I need to go through!), I wanted to show you all what I wore. Events have always been slightly stressful for me because I never really knew what I wanted to wear/how I wanted to look. I would hem and haw in front of my closet for hours overthinking every last item of clothing until I would just get too overwhelmed and would throw on the easiest thing within reach. However, nowadays, I get excited at the idea of dressing for an event because I have started to view them as a fun opportunity for me to dress up to the nines! While I still obsess over the details (“What lipstick should I wear?!” “This purse of this one?!” “I need to find the perfect nail color!”), I have found that I actually enjoy putting it all together. Of course, planning my event outfit is always easy, especially when you have the perfect dress.

This dress. Oooooh, this dress. When I first saw this dress, it drew me in with it’s full tea-length A-line skirt and it’s dreamy rose printed silk fabric. It was perfect. In an attempt to have some semblance of self-control, I told myself, I’ll only buy this stunning dress if it fits perfectly. Well, the rest is history because once I put it on, I did a little turn and all I could do was smile. I knew this dress was coming home with me and I realized that it would be the perfect dress to wear to my big beauty event!

Now, this dress is actually labeled as a gown. Most people would shy away from wearing a gown in a casual city like San Francisco, but as most of you know, I find that I feel my best when I’m all gussied up. Really, it’s about finding what works for you, and if what works for you is a fabulous ball gown, I hope you wear the heck out of that ball gown!

Thanks for reading and make sure you tune in tomorrow for pictures from the event!
