Outfit Details | Coat (J Crew, love this one for spring), Sweatshirt (H&M, love this one), Pants (Piper via Nordstrom, love these), Shoes (J Crew), Purse (Rebecca Minkoff, color no longer available but other options here), Necklace (Jennifer Zeuner), Sunglasses (Karen Walker), Lipstick (MAC “Candy Yum Yum”).

As many of you know, pairing pink and leather together is one of my favorite combinations. I particularly like that the girlie feel of the pink against the tougher, edgier feel of the faux leather pants make for a fun outfit that is unexpected and fresh. As spring moves along and the summer months are now within reach, I am trying to get as much wear out of my most favorite J Crew Bow Coat. For my wardrobe, this is the perfect coat. I had dreamed about it, drooled over it when I saw it at J Crew, cried when I waited too long to order it, and jumped up and down when I found it in my size on eBay. A wide range of emotions! With all that said, I will be very sad when it’s time to put it into the “winter time storage” section of my closet.

Let me ask you all a question. Well, first let me set the scene. Whenever a new season comes around, I often find that I want to buy all new clothes because, duh, there’s so many new things available. However, I also find that I have become quite attached to the wardrobe that I was sporting in the previous season. This usually only happens in the transition from winter/spring (kind of the same in the Bay Area) to summer. When this happens, it’s hard for me to part with last season’s wardrobe because I have 1.) grown accustomed to how each piece fits, 2.) found my go-to’s that always look great, and 3.) have hidden away parts of my body that are not quite summer weather ready, if you catch my drift. Once the weather starts warming up, I start noticing that none of my cute summer clothes look quite as good as I imagined them to look when I was late night online shopping on a random Tuesday. However, I do think this is just an adjustment period and it usually passes after a few weeks have gone by, which is when I start getting attached to my summer wardrobe. This year, I bought some Jergen’s Natural Glow Body Lotion to help ease the transition so that I don’t blind myself when I am looking at myself in shorts. Here’s hoping!

Have a fabulous weekend. See you on Monday! 🙂

I hope you don’t feel like you need to buy a whole new summer wardrobe just because there are new collections available. If your older season pieces work, then keep workin’ them! You can always “freshen it up” by adding a couple of fun, new things.
