When in doubt, GO BOLD! For my last “How To Wear Chartreuse” post, I wanted to feature this awesomely bold dress. This dress definitely makes a statement, but it’s such a fun one. The whimsical but not cutesy (honestly, how does J Crew walk that line so well?!) scalloped edges create such a fun spring and summer time look that I just couldn’t resist breaking it out a little early.

Through my personal style journey, I have found that “going bold” is completely subjective. For some, going bold might mean experimenting with pairing black and brown together. For others, it might mean wearing five different prints and textures that all (miraculously) still work together. For me, going bold means trying new combinations that I have not tried before, like neon chartreuse and neon pink. No matter what your “bold” comfort level is, I encourage you to dig deep inside your inner fashionista and find what works for you and here’s how:

Step One: Go to your closet.

Step Two: Take out something that you love but you always think “I could never pull this off in real life,” (i.e. “people might think I look too dressed up” or “this color is way too bright. It may attract attention.”)

Step Three: Take that amazing item, put it on.

Step Four: Go to the mirror.

Step Five: Check yourself out and say, “I am totally rocking this!”

Trust me, going bold is easier once you’ve taken that first step. Thanks for reading friends!
