Outfit Details | Sweater (J Crew, similar), Skirt (J Crew, on sale!), Shoes (J Crew), Purse (Coach, no longer available), Sunglasses (Karen Walker), Necklace (c/o Rocksbox), Lipstick (MAC “Flat Out Fabulous”).

I bet my mom is looking at this outfit and shaking her head. Last weekend, I tried to encourage her to wear hot pink and red together to a Valentine’s Day party that she was invited to and she wrinkled her nose and shook her head “no!” as if this suggestion was crazy! For this blog post, I was inspired by that conversation. I love wearing unexpected color combinations that most people think of as a “don’t.” I love red and I love pink, so why not pair them together, especially if they are equally as bright? An outfit like this is definitely not for the weak at heart, but you guys, it’s so fun to wear!

This magenta cashmere sweater has been one of my favorites for years now. When J Crew launches their end of season mega sales, I always stock up on a few of these sweaters because they are. The. Best. Not only is the quality fantastic but J Crew’s unique colors cannot be beat. Speaking of awesome J Crew pieces, this skirt is ah-mazing and it’s on sale! It also comes in black and I highly recommend it for all occasions. Also, that slit up the front with it’s sexy-but-still-appropriate feel is the perfect finishing touch to this beautiful piece.

Thanks for stopping by!

I would have agreed with you Mom if you had suggested that combo to me, but seeing it on you and how amazing it looks, makes me think I would have to re-examine the combination. Great Look
