Outfit Details | Sweater (J Crew), Pants (J Crew, similar), Shoes (J Crew), Clutch (Francesca’s), Sunglasses              (Karen Walker), Lipstick (MAC “Ruby Woo”).

As many of you know, I adore Valentine’s Day. The colors (hello! Pink is my favorite color), the heart-shaped goodies, the flowers, the love! I just can’t get enough. To celebrate my love and excitement for Valentine’s Day, I will be showing an outfit a day (a total of five outfits) inspired by the day dedicated to love.

To start the week off with a bang, I am going with my favorite color! I absolutely love pairing different shades of pink together because they just compliment each other so perfectly. Since the lines of the sweater and the pants are so classic, the fuchsia and light pink color block each other quite nicely and make for a fairly simple yet chic ensemble. You could easily take this outfit from a day at the office to a night out with friends and/or your significant other.

I often forget to pair two shades of the same color together, yet it makes such a fun and unexpected statement. This Valentine’s Day, I’m hoping that you will start to think outside of the box when it comes to your attire. Both of these items were already in my closet, which made my wallet breathe a sigh of relief and helped me realize that I don’t always have to go out and buy a new outfit for every special holiday, as much as I may be tempted to! Take a look in your closet. You may find some real gems!

Thanks for reading!

Hi Whatthemom! I am in San Francisco, where “winter” (aka lots of rain) has finally hit. If we had snow on the ground, these outfits may have been altered! 🙂

This idea is fantastic – put together a new outfit in my closet too, and with twins going to college next year every penny counts! Thanks!
