Transitional Pieces With Tobi

Transitional Pieces With Tobi

A lot of bloggers love transitioning their closets into new seasons. Not this blogger, guys. I actually find it a little stressful to start moving from my favorite past season items because I get super attached to my go-to pieces (MY FUR JACKETS! WHAT WILL I WEAR IF I CAN'T WEAR MY FUR JACKETS?!). Spring and summer are actually the hardest seasons for me to transition into because I feel like I never know what to wear. One minute it's freezing cold (we've been hitting the mid to low 30's in the Bay Area and this California girl is not equipped for this type of weather), the next warm and sunny, and the next raining and windy as all hell. It can be really frustrating for a gal like me who likes to plan out my outfits accordingly and not be blind sighted by some warm front when I'm wearing boots and a shearling jacket. However, with my friends at Tobi, I am actually REALLY excited about a couple of key transitional pieces that I know are going to become the new VIPs of my wardrobe. I present you...(drumroll please!)... this killer Tobi lace up body suit and this incredible Tobi sweater dress!

San Francisco is a huge part of my personal identity. On my mom's side, my sister and I are both fourth generation SF born, which I think is awesome. My grandma has lived in the city her whole life both my mom and dad grew up in the city as well. Jonny and I moved to the city going on seven years ago and since we moved here, I have grown very connected to San Francisco. I love the energy, the food, the neighborhoods, and the unique landscape that has become my home. One of my favorite parts of living in such an incredible city like San Francisco are the gems, like The Human Condition, that I stumble upon along the way.

Have you ever seen a piece of clothing that you know is meant to be yours but you're kind of a cheapskate and you don't want to spend full price even though it's, like, BEAUTIFUL?! Well, you're seeing two of those pieces RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW in this blog post. This Tory Burch jacket and this Ulla Johnson jumpsuit took up spots one and two on my wishlist last winter. I wanted them so badly that I kept open tabs on my phone and on my laptop so that I could obsessively hit refresh every single day until they went on sale. Let's just say, I had to wait for a long time (in reality it was like two months, but in blogger world that is eternity) but once they finally went on sale, I screamed with excitement and hit purchase right away.

This is the kind of outfit that you can find me wearing almost daily. In the winter, I basically wear a black turtleneck everyday because I tend to run pretty cold. Also, for style reasons alone, a black turtleneck is one of the chicest and EASIEST things you can wear because it goes with everything and it always seems to elevate any outfit. While we're talking about black turtlenecks, I also want to give a shout out to these incredible Reformation jeans that I have been wearing almost daily since I bought them back in December. I even bought two more pairs because the fit is SO good that I didn't want to risk not having them. Black jeans, black turtleneck, a plaid blazer and a statement boot is really the type of outfit I want to wear every day. Not only does it help me feel put together, but it makes me feel chic AF and I'm okay with that.

When I first entered the blogging world four and a half years ago, I really didn't see myself connecting with a lot of women. I place a lot of the blame on myself being a total homebody and introvert (yes, I am super shy when I don't know people!). I found myself not going to events because I was afraid I wouldn't know anyone so I just stayed home and missed out on great opportunities. As an adult, I also found it very hard to create genuine friendships with other women because I have pretty high standards for those I choose to spend my time with. When I don't feel comfortable with someone, I often feel a great deal of pressure to make that person like me (I am a total people pleaser by nature) even if I don't see us becoming friends. I know, it's really weird, but that's just who I am and I've come to accept it. I choose my friends very carefully and I can honestly say that blogging has been the best way for me to make some of the best friendships that I have ever had.
