I am always looking for ways to dress outside the box so that I can hopefully inspire you all to do the same. One of the reasons I started Wannabe Fashion Blogger was to showcase how my style is ever-evolving and that I really love to try new styles based not only on what's currently trendy, but what truly speaks to me as a person. For today's blog post, I have teamed up with River Island to showcase a bold new look for you guys. It's not a secret that I have been loving the power suit trend that has basically taken over the past style year.

Perfect Spring Top

Perfect Spring Top

There's nothing I love more than a crisp white top. In all honesty, as much as I love spring and summer, I often find myself falling into some pretty major style ruts because I find there aren't as many options for warm weather. I'm also pretty modest when it comes to showing a lot of skin so baring it all for the world doesn't always sound super appealing to me. However, white tops are my go-to's in the summer and I always find myself buying multiple white blouses to get me through. Really, it's more than just "getting me through" (excuse my dramatic self). I actually LOVE wearing white. It just feels so fresh and even edgy when paired with the right pieces and accessories. I picked up this Rebecca Taylor top that I had been eyeing on major sale, so that was a great score. I have worn it so much already because it's insanely flattering and the ruching down the middle is just picture perfect. It may be hard to see from the photos, but the material of the top is very different from a regular cotton top that you might wear. It feels like a silk blend, which in my opinion makes me feel like a fancy mofo when I'm wearing this top, and really, who wouldn't want that?

The FarFetch Sale You Don’t Want To Miss

The FarFetch Sale You Don’t Want …

Friends, you know I love a good sale but some sales are far superior than the rest. Together with FarFetch, I bring you one of my very favorite sales. Not only can you find current pieces that you can actually wear for spring and summer (typically, amazing sales try to push previous season product to make way for new season product so in the spring/summer, you'll get a lot of winter items and in the fall/winter you'll get a lot of spring/summer items). Nothing is worse that an amazing sale where you can't wear any of the pieces that you score because they are not weather/season appropriate. However, FarFetch's current sale is BEYOND amazing with pieces ranging from season to season. Can you say, "winning!?" You can find incredible designer pieces for slashed sale prices so, in order to celebrate this sale to end all sales, I have rounded a few of my favorite items that are on promo for you all to gather inspo from and, more importantly, shop 'till your online shopping cart is full. Happy shopping!

Zara Dress

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how long it has been since I bought this Zara dress. I mean, not like a year, but definitely a couple months have gone by since I first saw this beauty online. The trouble is with spring arrivals making themselves available to buy in late February/early March is that it's always too cold to wear them right away. CURSE YOU WEATHER! Oh well, I'm showing you now and that's the point right? Anyways, mini dresses have always kind of given me the heebie jeebies. Being a tall gal, short dresses make me anxious because I am always the girl whose dress will blow up in the wind. Is it because I'm tall and the wind can more easily gust up my legs and flash the world my undies or do I just have really bad luck? I really have no idea but I find that instead of looking cute and carefree, I look like a crazy person holding down my dress both in the front and the back. It's not a fun look. BUT every once in awhile, I say SCREW IT and I wear a short dress. This one is much easier to wear because there is extra fabric on the bottom, which can help against pesky wind gusts, so that's awesome. Plus, for spring and summer, I really love wearing flow dresses and skirts because I don't really feel like I do that at any other time of year.
